The Italian Grand Prix returns to the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza from 4 to 6 September, on the fastest circuit of the season. For three days Brianza becomes the loudest place in Europe, and Milan fills up with people who have travelled from across Europe and beyond.
Anyone who has been knows the weekend does not start on Friday and does not end at the chequered flag. It starts on Thursday evening in the hotels in the centre, continues in the paddock and at dinners outside the city, and dissolves slowly towards the lakes on Monday. Four days of driving — and the car you arrive in matters as much as the event.
The AF garage is twenty minutes from the circuit
AF Luxury Rent is based in Milan, around twenty minutes from the circuit entrance. That distance changes the weekend: no long transfers to arrange, and the car stays available for everything that happens around the race.
Cars can be collected at the garage or delivered to the address of your choice — hotel, residence, meeting point — by a member of the team who takes the time to walk through the controls and settings before you set off.
Getting around Monza during race weekend
A few practical notes for anyone who does not know the area.
Traffic around the circuit concentrates in the two hours before each session and in the hour after. Arrive early and the roads are clear; arrive at the last minute and you queue. The park has several entrances: choose the one matching your grandstand, not the closest one on the map.
Race Sunday is the most demanding day. Many prefer to leave the car at the hotel, reach the circuit another way and pick it up again in the afternoon. Delivery to the address of your choice, and collection at the end of the rental, make the logistics of the weekend considerably simpler.
Which car
There is no obligatory choice, but a Monza weekend rewards two different profiles.
There are those who want the car to match the occasion: an open Supercar, to be driven with the roof down on early September evenings, when the Italian weather is still on the driver’s side. And there are those arriving as a group or with family, who need real space without giving up character — which moves the choice towards the Supersuv and Executive categories.
The AF fleet is company owned and includes cars from the most recognisable names in the industry — Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, McLaren, Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes, Bmw, Range Rover — in full optional specification, across Supercar, Sportcar, Supersuv, Suv and Executive.
Before and after the Grand Prix
The Monza weekend opens a particularly full September in Milan. It is also the best moment to add a few days: Lake Como is an hour from the circuit, the Langhe and Monferrato a little over two, the French Riviera half a day away.
All routes worth driving in the right car, and enough to turn three days of racing into a week of travel.
How to book
Requests for Grand Prix weekend concentrate in the days immediately before, when availability is already limited. It is worth moving early and checking which cars are free for your dates.
An AF Mobility Concierge follows the request from start to finish: advising on the model, arranging collection and return, and remaining available throughout the trip.
